Healthy through everyday life
CALLA blood glucose meter
Diabetics often have to check their blood sugar 8 times a day. This is as much a part of their everyday life as looking at the clock. This is precisely why we have given the 'wellion calla' a friendly face. It is more of a personal aid than a medical device.
Design aspect
Older people in particular are often affected by diabetes. This metabolic disorder further impairs their already impaired vision. The design is therefore conceived for clear readability and intuitive operation. The digit size utilises almost the entire display and just three buttons can be used to save and call up saved data.
Benefit
Blood glucose meters are not traditionally offered for sale. In most cases, patients are given a choice of different models free of charge as part of the insurance benefit. The manufacturers only earn money when the consumables, such as test strips, are purchased. Medtrust is delighted that our design has won over so many people at first glance and opened up access to the market.

The handy, unusual shape of the Wellion CALLA blood glucose meter is a real eye-catcher. The large, easy-to-read display takes centre stage, while the non-slip coating makes it easier to draw blood, as the device remains securely in place during the measurement.

User interface and software wireframe
With CALLA, product design does not end at the physical shell. Maximum button size and an intuitive layout that creates a seamless transition to the ON-screen information make operation easier.
For product diversification, two different user interfaces were implemented in addition to the numerous colour models. The wireframe prototypes show the design of a PREMIUM version in colour and a BASIC version.
