Innovative microfibre filter for the washing machine

PlanetCare 2.0

35% of the microplastics in the sea are caused by the abrasion of our clothing and textiles made from synthetic fibres. Clothing is therefore the number one source of primary microplastics in the sea. Microplastics from the environment enter the food chain and end up on our plates.

The PlanetCare 2.0 microfibre filter is attached to the washing machine and catches 98% of the microplastics before they go down the drain. When the filter is full, the housing cap pops up and its red colour indicates that the filter needs to be changed. The dirty filters are reprocessed by PlanetCare and the collected microplastics are reutilised or chemically recycled.

„Version 2.0 was designed to have a delicate balance between form and function as it needed to be both attractive in the home and practically intuitive for the end-user“

PlanetCare

Making environmental protection visible

Our product design for the microplastic filter supports good usability and creates the right context - a product that protects the environment must create awareness and should not be hidden.

Unlike the first version, the PlanetCare 2.0 remains on the washing machine when the filter is changed - the cartridge is replaced without flooding the bathroom. A clean thing all round!
